Over the last several months, the
leadership of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia has been
meeting via webinar to discuss merging our 4 states into a regional
association. We all share common goals -- the need to promote the
association with limited volunteers, the necessity for streamlining
governance, and the desire to stay relevant in our changing profession.
Michigan
and Indiana have a state association. Michigan has a state association and local components in place.
Ohio and West Virginia each have a local component, but no state
association. Combining into a regional association could potentially
lead to more representation in the House of Delegates and give us more
resources to meet our goals.
This
concept has been discussed throughout the national association for
the last 8 years. It's time for Michigan to participate in this
discussion. The first step is educating our membership. Below you will find the link to a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" that were compiled
by a subcommittee consisting of a member representing each state.
Please take the time to go over this list. We hope this compilation
will answer any questions that you may have. Thank you in advance for
your time.
