In May of 2010, AHDI modified its recredentialing policies, requiring CMTs to seek continuing education credits solely from sources providing level 2 content – ie, sources that provide clinical, technological, medicolegal, and/or professional development content that is appropriately challenging for the recredentialing acute-care CMT. Attached please find the AHDI Recredentialing Resource Guide that can also be found on the AHDI website.
If you are a CMT, please take the time to read this attachment: AHDI Recredentialing Resource Guide. It is important to note while your regional/state and local components may offer presentations that focus primarily on students and RMTs, only those meeting the new May 2010 CE requirements will count toward your recertification. This will raise the bar significantly. After all, the point of earning continuing education credits is to improve your core knowledge, not just accrue a minimum of 30 credits to keep your CMT.
For our part on the regional/state and local levels, we should continue to provide presentations that will interest all skill levels. The CEC verification form provided at our future symposia will include only those sessions that are credit-worthy. MAHDI wants you to be aware of this policy change, so you will be prepared as you plan your CECs prior to the end of your current cycle. Furthermore, this resource guide lists a multitude of opportunities to earn level 2 CECs, not just face-to-face meetings.
If you know any CMTs who are not members of AHDI, please share this important information with them. If you are a local component leader, please share this information with your CMT members, if they are not members of AHDI. Thank you.
The membership of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky have voted to become a region, with the majority of votes coming from our state. See the "Regional Formation" page for more info!
AHDI is undergoing a process to develop a better district-centered managerial plan. AHDI’s Board of Directors, Component Leaders, and House of Delegates are spearheading a new initiative to ensure the long-term success, relevance, and business sustainability of our association’s components. This project, called “The Blueprint for Great Governance,” is being led by AHDI President-Elect Barb Marques, CMT, AHDI-F, and Speaker of the House Bonnie Monico, CMT, AHDI-F, with an esteemed group of team members representing the diversity of our membership. The Team will host a series of online Town Hall meetings to brainstorm new approaches, services, and models to best serve the needs of our members and position MTs for long-term success in this rapidly changing environment of healthcare.
